ChatGPT
Add Anlyon's hosted MCP server to ChatGPT as a custom connector in developer mode, sign in with OAuth, and run your actions and review approvals from a chat.
The Anlyon ChatGPT app listing was withdrawn. Anlyon is not in ChatGPT’s app directory. You can still connect ChatGPT to Anlyon’s hosted MCP server yourself, as a custom connector in developer mode.
Once connected, ChatGPT can run your workspace’s actions without holding a credential: it names an action and passes input, and Anlyon adds the credential at dispatch. A risky call waits for an approver before anything is sent, and every call leaves a receipt. This covers calls routed through Anlyon.
Connect ChatGPT
ChatGPT connects with OAuth (“Login with Anlyon”). It has no field for an API key or custom headers, so it cannot act for one of your users.
Turn on developer mode
In ChatGPT’s settings, open Apps & Connectors, then Advanced settings, and turn on Developer mode. In a Business, Enterprise or Edu workspace, an admin may need to allow it first. The menu names change between releases; check ChatGPT’s help for your plan.
Create the connector
Create a custom app or connector with:
- Name:
Anlyon - MCP server URL:
https://api.anlyon.com/mcp - Authentication: OAuth
ChatGPT registers itself with Anlyon. There is no client id or secret to enter.
A sign-in window opens.
- Sign in to Anlyon, or create an account. A new account gets a workspace during sign-in.
- If you belong to more than one workspace, choose the workspace and environment ChatGPT acts in. With one workspace, the connection uses its default environment.
- Choose permissions. Actions is on. Approve on your behalf is off unless you turn it on; without it ChatGPT cannot list or decide pending approvals.
Use it in a chat
Start a new chat and select the Anlyon connector from the composer’s tools menu.
ChatGPT sees only the tools the permissions you granted cover. Anlyon recognises ChatGPT’s connector and shortens tool descriptions and results for it. The tools and what they do are the same as for every other client. To disconnect, remove the app in Anlyon’s settings. Its next request is refused.
Run actions and review approvals
Once your team has defined actions in the console:
- “What actions can my Anlyon workspace run?” ChatGPT calls
list_actionsand says which need approval. - “Raise support ticket T-1042 to high priority.” ChatGPT calls
action_update-ticket-priority. If the action needs approval, nothing is sent: the call waits for an approver, and ChatGPT can callwait_for_approvalto wait for the decision, up to 120 seconds a call. - “Show my pending approvals.” With Approve on your behalf granted, ChatGPT lists what is waiting (
list_pending_approvals) and approves or denies with the reason you give (decide_approval). The reason is recorded against your name.
You can never decide an approval that your own agent requested, whether ChatGPT or any other app signed in as you, or a key you created. A teammate decides it. If nobody else in the environment can decide approvals, decide it yourself in the console or in Slack.
An action that does not need approval runs at once. An outcome of unknown means the request may have reached the destination: ChatGPT should not call the action again, and you reconcile it. See When the outcome is unknown.
Fix connection problems
| What you see | Why | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| The sign-in never completes, or ChatGPT asks again | The app was disconnected in Anlyon, or the grant expired | Connect again from the connector’s settings |
| No Anlyon tools in the chat | The connector is not selected in this chat, or no actions are enabled | Select it from the tools menu. Check Actions in the console |
list_pending_approvals is missing |
Approve on your behalf was not granted | Reconnect and turn it on |
This authorization is missing required scope: ... |
The grant lacks that permission group | Reconnect and grant the group |
